The skiff fired two shots at the tanker whose armed Security Team fired 2 warning shots at the small craft which forced them to alter course. Vessels are advised to transit with caution and report any suspicious activity to UKMTO, whilst authorities investigate.

The crew of the small skiff opened fire on the vessel and attempted to board. Authorities are investigating. Vessels are advised to transit with caution and report any suspicious activity to UKMTO.

The British Maritime Authority reported that a cargo ship was approached by a boat carrying six armed men southwest of Balhaf in Yemen. An exchange of fire ensued between the small boat and the cargo ship's armed security team, resulting in the boat moving away.

Trump: Today, an Iranian-flagged cargo ship named TOUSKA, nearly 900 feet long and weighing almost as much as an aircraft carrier, tried to get past our Naval Blockade, and it did not go well for them. The U.S. Navy Guided Missile Destroyer USS SPRUANCE intercepted the TOUSKA in the Gulf of Oman, and gave them fair warning to stop. The Iranian crew refused to listen, so our Navy ship stopped them right in their tracks by blowing a hole in the engineroom. Right now, U.S. Marines have custody of the vessel. The TOUSKA is under U.S. Treasury Sanctions because of their prior history of illegal activity. We have full custody of the ship, and are seeing what's on board!

Laivas, gabendamas apie 730 000 barelių „Urals" naftos Sueco kryptimi, buvo paskelbtas „nevaldomu". Neseniai perregistruotas Rusijos vėliava, kelis kartus pervadintas, o jį valdo Sankt Peterburge įsikūrusi bendrovė „Legacy Marine LLC". Incidentas sutampa su padažnėjusiais Prancūzijos karinio jūrų laivyno uždraudimais šešėlinio laivyno tanklaiviams plaukioti tame pačiame koridoriuje. Nors pagrindinis vertinimas išlieka mechaninis gedimas, laikas kelia išorinio kišimosi ar tyčinės žalos galimybę.

Su klaidinga vėliava plaukiojantis laivas „Chariot Tide" (buvęs „Marabella Sun", IMO numeris 9323376) signalizuoja „nevaldomas" ir dreifuoja prie Maroko krantų. Galbūt jam sunku patekti į uostą, kai jis „neturi pilietybės". Tai įvyko praėjus dienai po ES ir JK veiksmų prieš Grinčą.
